A five-storey building under construction has fallen in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, injuring seven people.
In the early hours of Thursday, a structure believed to be a hotel under construction fell in the Awosika neighborhood of the State's Ibadan North local government area.
Seven injured people were subsequently retrieved from the building's rubble, but at the time of publication, it was unknown whether any lives had been lost in the disaster.
A rescue team made up of members of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the State Fire Service, and other security organizations has been sent to the location.
According to reports, the first responders kept looking through the rubble for additional survivors.
Earlier this week, a seven-story building on Oba Idowu Oniru Street in Victoria Island, Lagos, fell, causing at least five fatalities and prompting fears that there may be more victims there.
